Your plant produces at noon. Sell in the evening.
BESS retrofit
For owners of PV plants selling on the free market: we add storage without rebuilding the plant.

01The day / evening problem
At noon there is too much energy, and it is too cheap
583 MW
583 MW (56%) of renewable capacity operates on the free market without state support and is exposed to the midday surplus; in spring and summer the average daytime price on OPCOM falls to €0–25/MWh.

02Before and after
With a BESS the day’s surplus becomes evening energy

04FAQ
Do I have to stop the plant during installation?
Most work runs while the plant operates. A short stop is needed only for the substation tie-in; we schedule it for low-production hours.
Do I need a new grid connection approval?
It depends on the architecture and how the battery operates (including whether it charges from the grid). We check the terms of your current approval and prepare an amendment if needed.
What BESS size do I need?
We start from your production profile, connection capacity and how you sell. Typically 2–4 hours of storage at a power equal to part of the plant’s capacity.
Can the battery also take part in the balancing market?
Yes, if it is sized with spare capacity and takes part through a registered balancing service provider (BSP / FSE). Blackfield is not a BSP: we work in arbitrage and aggregation.
How is a retrofit paid for?
Directly, with bank financing, or as a co-investment where we share the additional revenue.
